Sree Iyappa Bhaktha Mandali (IBM) was commenced in the year 1991 by Anantha Narayanan (SIVA) Guruswamy.

 

SIVA Guruswamy was the member of Sri Iyappa Bhaktha Samajam, Tondiarpet led by Brahmasri Sri R. Venkatachalam Guruswamy (AE of Enfield India, Thiruvetriyoor.) The Bhaktha samajam consists of Brahmasri Sri R. Venkatachalam Guruswamy, Shri Neelamani Guruswamy, Shri Venkatachalam (Cashier, Enfield India) and Shri Natarajan, Shri Vijayaraj and our SIVA Guruswamy. The Laksharchana were performed at the Varadaraja Perumal Koil, Tondiarpet for 18 years by the Iyappa Bhaktha Samajam. The 18th Year Laksharchana was completed in 1991.

 

Guru@sannithanamSince December 1992, IBM performing the Laksharchana at Sri Sakthi Vinayagar Temple, Metronagar, Alapakkam with the help of IBM Devotees, Sri Sakthi Vinayagar temple Committee and the Volunteers & devotees of the temple. The Idol Installation of Sri Lord Iyappa at Sri Sakthi Vinayagar Temple, Metronagar, Alapakkam was performed in the year 1993 with a separate Sannithi. We also perform Bhagavathy Sevai on the day before Iyappa Laksharchana.

 

SIVA Guruswamy and IBM Devotees have commenced the Yatras to the Sree Koil Sabarimalai from 1992 onwards. Intially it was started with a Makara Jyothi Yatra. Then it was May/Prathista Day Yatra. Childrens & Senior Citizens will participate in more numbers during the May/Prathishta Day Yatra.

 

With the sincere help and co-operation of all members & volunteers of IBM, monthly Sri Iyappa Pooja / Bhajans are performed. IBM has released a Souvenir (BOOK) on Iyappa Pooja/Bhajan in year 1992. We have also released a Souvenir (BOOK) on Iyappa Pooja / Bhajan titled “Sasthavin Ganangal” on 16th December 2007. The book has information about Lord Iyappa, Virudham Details, Sri Sabarimalai details, Sri Iyappa Sahasranamam, Sri Iyappa Ashtotharam, Sri Lakshmi Pooja, Sri Ganapathy Pooja, Sri Murugan Pooja, Bhajans etc. The book was released by Brahmasri Sri P.S. Sivan Guru Swamy at function held at Koviloor Madalayam in West Mambalam, Chennai.
